Sabine A Mertes-Urbahn first came to the Dominican Republic on vacation in 1993. The country and its people appealed to her and she decided to spend a short while here in order to improve her Spanish.

Sabine speaks 5 languages, having a Masters Degree in language from University Trier in Germany. It dawned on Sabine that she had found her new home in the Caribbean and after a few years learning the ropes, she started Select Caribbean Properties with a partner in 2001.
