Dianetics is the forerunner of the study called Scientology. Dianetics is simply a field of study of the mind. It was introduced in 1948, and then the book, Dianetics: Modern Science of Mental Health was published in May 1950. Since then it has sold tens of millions of copies. It works.
Within a few years the author, L. Ron Hubbard, had developed a deeper philosophy, called Scientology. Dianetics has to do with the mind, but Scientology has to do with the spoirit, that runs its mind.
Scientology and Dianetics are both practised in Canberra for over 30 years now. This site gives some more information.
