Worcester Trusted for over half a century. Since 1962, when Worcester pioneered domestic oil-fired boilers, the company’s commitment to excellence hasn’t changed. That commitment has only strengthened since Worcester became part of the Bosch Group, one of the world’s leading names in high-end technology.
Today, many years and thousands of home boilers< later, Worcester is the market leader in domestic heating and hot water systems. It’s a name that stands for reliability, quality, efficiency and value for money.
We’re a leading British company, employing more than 2,000 people at our headquarters and manufacturing plants in Worcester and Clay Cross in Derbyshire. That also includes a network of over 300 service engineers and over 80 technically trained field sales managers.
So although buying a new boiler for home might seem daunting, there’s no need to worry. Worcester is a name you can trust. Worcester is the choice of thousands of quality- and value- conscious people all over the UK.
Our home heating products include condensing boilers< and renewable energy products - solar panels, ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps. As part of the Bosch Group, a percentage of the profits made by Worcester is donated to charities and good causes by the Robert Bosch Foundation.
This helps the organisation as a whole focus on long term activities rather than concentrating on share dividends. It means that you won’t see any companies associated with the Bosch Group on any stock markets.
Worcester products<
Worcester produces gas boilers, oil boilers, solar water heating, ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps.
Home Boilers<
- Gas boilers
- All Worcester’s Greenstar gas boilers are all condensing boilers and run at 90% efficiency or over.
- Combi boilers provide heating and hot water directly from the boiler. Regular and system boilers heat your central heating system and produce hot water for your cylinder.
- Oil boilers
- All Worcester’s Greenstar oil boilers are condensing boilers and run at 90% efficiency or over.
- Combi boilers provide heating and hot water directly from the boiler. Regular and system boilers heat your central heating system and produce hot water for your cylinder.
- LPG boilers
- All Worcester’s Greenstar LPG condensing boilers run at 90% efficiency or over.
- Boiler controls
- Using the right boiler controls can make life easier for you and could help to make your boiler even more efficient.
- Boiler scrappage schemes
- Throughout 2010, a number of boiler scrappage schemes were introduced to encourage homeowners to upgrade their old boilers to high efficiency condensing boilers.
- Micro CHP
- Worcester has been selected as the centre of excellence for the Bosch Group’s development of micro CHP.
- Micro CHP (combined heat and power) is a home heating product which uses a Stirling engine with condensing boiler technology. As its name suggests it produces both heat and power.
- Like a boiler, a micro CHP appliance heats a home’s heating and hot water system, but at the same time also generates electricity.
Renewable technologies<
Solar water heating
Worcester’s Greenskies solar water heating panels use the power in both direct and diffused sunlight, converting the energy into heat, to produce hot water for the home.
A well-sized solar water heating system could provide up to 60% of your annual hot water requirements. The Greenskies solar panels are designed to go with existing heating systems that use a cylinder to store hot water.
Ground source heat pumps
A ground source heat pump unit uses the natural energy stored in the earth to heat your home. Worcester’s Greenstore ground source heat pumps are suitable for a variety of properties and are designed to be the sole source of heating and hot water in the home.
System heat pumps require a separate cylinder and can also be used with solar water heating. Combi heat pumps have an integrated cylinder. For every single kilowatt of electricity used to power the ground source heat pumps, this system could generate four kilowatts or more in energy for your home.
Greenstore ground source heat pumps are certified by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme and planning permission for them has been eased significantly
Air source heat pumps
Worcester’s range of air source heat pumps offers a choice of two systems: air to air or air to water, both offering significant savings compared with a conventional heating system.
The air source heat pumps convert the free and sustainable latent energy in the air into heat, delivering green, low-cost, energy-saving heating and hot water all year round.
Greensource air source heat pumps are intended to be the sole source of heating and hot water production for the home.
Air to water heat pumps use the constant energy available in the air with a refrigerant circuit which allows the temperature to be boosted to a useful level for heating or hot water for the home.
The Greensource Air to Air Heat Pump can provide heating and cooling for the home. It also features advanced air purification technology which is particularly beneficial to allergy sufferers.
The heat pump comprises an outdoor and an indoor unit which convert latent energy in the air (even on the coldest days) into heat for your home. The outdoor unit extracts the energy in air outside the property. This heat, absorbed by refrigerant solution within the unit, is turned into hot air by the indoor unit and distributed within the property.
Air source heat pumps are suitable for a wide range of installations including apartments, smaller homes and conservatories. It’s operated using a remote control.
Cylinders
Cylinders are available to go with our Greenskies solar water heating and Greenstore ground source heat pumps.
Greenskies solar cylinder
The Greenskies cylinder is a stainless steel unvented twin-coil storage cylinder. It’s specifically designed to be installed in conjunction* with Worcester Greenskies solar water heating.
The cylinder is available in 4 sizes, 180, 210, 250 and 300 litres. It’s supplied complete with all the necessary safety and control devices needed to connect to the cold water mains.
Greenstore ground source heat pump and Greensource air to water heat pump cylinders
Worcester’s heat pumps ranges include storage tanks and solar compatible cylinders. ground source heat pump cylinders are solar compatible and are available in 180 and 280 litre sizes. They are designed to go with Greenstore ground source heat pumps only.
We also offer primary storage tanks (buffer tanks) which are available in 100 and 120 litre sizes. They’re designed to go with our Greenstore ground source heat pumps and Greensource air to water heat pumps.
Worcester’s range comprises gas boilers and oil boilers as well as renewable energy products, which include solar water heating, ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps. Worcester can help you to find a boiler and find a boiler installer.
